We went to the Transparent Obsevatory Floor of the Oriental Pearl TV Tower!
We visited Shanghai Urban Development Exhibition Hall which is a wax museum.
We went to Shanghai Museum, Yuyuan Garden, The Bund, and Nanjing Pedestrian Street.
We arrived in Suzhou in the late morning. We took the boat to tour the canal. In the afternoon we visited Suzhou Museum which was designed by world famous architect I.M.Pei. Then we visited the Humble Administrator's Garden, the most famous personal garden in China. After that we went to the Pingjiang Pedestrian Street.
We visited Suzhou Silk Factory and saw how silk was made, step by step, from silk worms to beautiful silk products. It is unbelievable that silk is soft and strong at the same time. It can be used to make the softest pajamas as well as bullet proof vests.
Tongli is a watertown about 40 minutes away from Suzhou. It is called the Oriental Venice. We tried local food in a historic restaurant, visited a beautiful garden, took the boat, and wandered in the watertown.
We had Suzhou style noodles for the last dinner in China. The next day would be Anabelle's birthday, so we celebrated together early in both the Chinese way (eating noodles) and the western way (eating cake).
We flew back to Boston on May 8. We had the most amazing time and the most memorable experience in China. We will not forget the new family and friends we have found there. We will treasure our memories and look forward to meeting them again.
